Saturday February 10th, Saturday February 24th, Saturday March 2nd

Maine Sail, Power, and Steam Museum, Rockland, ME

Ken McKinley, Instructor

This is a three part seminar which will take place on Saturday February 10th, Saturday February 24th, and Saturday March 2nd. Saturday March 9th will be held as a back-up date in case of poor travelling conditions on any of the prior dates. The general goal will be for participants to learn about weather systems and how they can impact sailing activities for local cruising along the Maine coast. In addition to learning about the structure and characteristics of weather systems, attention will be paid to observing how conditions are changing in order to make decisions about activities on the water. Time will be spent learning about situations that are unique to the Maine coast, and about how conditions and systems differ through the seasons. The range of publicly available weather resources will be explored, incluiding how to obtain and use these resources online.

The seminar will take place at the Maine Sail, Power, and Steam Museum in Rockland, Maine.
